10 Hidden Gem Mountain Views in Europe

The Best Mountain Views in Europe without crowds

This is not another list of famous European viewpoints with queues, parking stress and too many selfie sticks.

Instead, I chose ten mountain views based on my 30 years of experience in hiking in the mountains around Europe. All of these selected mountains stayed in my head because they felt quieter, wilder and exceptionally beautiful. Some are easy. Some are serious. All of them are worth knowing about.

I have visited all of these mountain views myself so I am sharing with you my personal experience and all practical information you need.

    Three benefits of my guide

    Personally selected viewpoints

These are not random internet recommendations. I chose these specific views based on my 30 years of experience in the mountains and these are the ones that I will never forget and I always recommend to friends and would happily visit again.

    Practical information

Each mountain includes elevation, elevation gain, distance, difficulty, best season, crowd level, camping, accommodation and a route map.

    Honest personal stories

You will also meet sandals on Mount Olympus, a frozen via ferrata in Bosnia, a Norwegian proposal interrupted by a dog and a few other moments that did not go completely according to plan.
